Ceremonia de decernare a distinctiilor se tine anual, in 2011 urmand sa aiba loc pe 29 septembrie la Camden Roundhouse din Londra. Printre artistii nominalizati la aceasta editie se numara si Adele, Jessie J, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry sau Tinie Tempah.
Un juriul format din personalitati ale industriei muzicale nominalizeaza o serie de artisti, de site-uri sau de componente hardware, la sectiunea ‘Judge’s Choice Awards’, in timp ce fanii isi pot vota cantaretii sau trupele preferate la sectiunea ‘People’s Choice Awards’.
Lee Thompson, director la BT Vision, spunea – “Acum, la cea de-a 11-a editie, BT Digital Music Awards devine o institutie, care aduce laolalta si celebreaza talentele din industria muzicala, atat cele locale, cat si cele internationale”.
